Youth Intern

Description

Duration: 8 Weeks
Job Term: Full Time, Summer Contract

Responsibilities
  • Assist Youth coordinator in setting up facilities, ordering resources, preparing program materials and organizing events
  • Coordinates the planning, direction and operation of Youth programs. Ensures that all equipment and supplies are available and meet safety standards.
  • Performs administrative tasks to support the program. 
  • Assists in the promotion and evaluation of the program. 
  • Interacts with participants, parents, staff and public to provide program information. 
  • Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions. 
  • Coordinate delivery of programs either through direct, facilitated or partnered methods.
  • Monitor delivery method and recommend changes to supervisor.
  • Identify program areas that would benefit from additional marketing initiatives. 
  • Liaise with program providers and partners to ensure day-to-day needs are addressed.
  • Ensure that program providers and facility renters are aware of emergency and safety procedures and their role in following the procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 30 years (inclusive)
  • Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment 
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations 
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Must have access to a reliable personal laptop for administrative and internship-related responsibilities


Compensation

$17.60 per hour
