Youth Intern
Description
Duration: 8 Weeks
Job Term: Full Time, Summer Contract
Responsibilities
- Assist Youth coordinator in setting up facilities, ordering resources, preparing program materials and organizing events
- Coordinates the planning, direction and operation of Youth programs. Ensures that all equipment and supplies are available and meet safety standards.
- Performs administrative tasks to support the program.
- Assists in the promotion and evaluation of the program.
- Interacts with participants, parents, staff and public to provide program information.
- Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions.
- Coordinate delivery of programs either through direct, facilitated or partnered methods.
- Monitor delivery method and recommend changes to supervisor.
- Identify program areas that would benefit from additional marketing initiatives.
- Liaise with program providers and partners to ensure day-to-day needs are addressed.
- Ensure that program providers and facility renters are aware of emergency and safety procedures and their role in following the procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 30 years (inclusive)
- Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment
- Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Must have access to a reliable personal laptop for administrative and internship-related responsibilities
Compensation
$17.60 per hour
