Operations Intern

Description

Duration: 8 Weeks
Job Term: Full Time, Summer Contract

Primary Duties: 
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facility.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors for repairs and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Manage facility access control systems, security, and surveillance.
  • Space Planning and Allocation:
  • Assist in planning and optimizing the use of office space.
  • Coordinate office moves and relocations, including furniture and equipment logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records of space allocations and occupancy.

Event Coordination:
  • Collaborate with various departments to plan and coordinate facility-related events.
  • Ensure necessary arrangements are in place, including room setups, equipment, and catering.
  • Oversee event logistics, including scheduling, coordination, and post-event evaluations.

Administrative Support:
  • Maintain accurate records of facility-related expenses and budgets.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance and capital improvement plans.
  • Respond to internal requests for facility-related assistance and support.

Required Skills:
  • Proven experience in facilities coordination or related roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and facility best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 30 years (inclusive)
  • Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment 
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations 
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Must have access to a reliable personal laptop for administrative and internship-related responsibilities

Compensation

$17.60 per hour
