Finance Intern
Description
Primary Duties:
Financial Administration:
- Assist in processing invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
- Help with preparing financial documentation for review and audit purposes.
Budget Tracking and Reporting:
- Support the finance team in tracking budget expenditures and reconciling accounts.
- Assist in compiling financial reports for internal departments and funding partners.
Data Entry and Management:
- Enter and maintain accurate financial records in the accounting software.
- Ensure all financial data is organized, up-to-date, and securely stored.
Administrative Support:
- Support general administrative tasks such as filing, organizing documents, and scheduling finance-related meetings.
- Help streamline internal finance processes for greater efficiency.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Help gather necessary documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 30 years (inclusive).
- Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment.
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general familiarity with accounting software.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A relevant degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or business is an asset.
- Previous experience in financial administration, bookkeeping, or related roles is considered advantageous.
