Volunteer Services Intern

Description

Duration: 8 Weeks
Job Term: Full Time, Summer Contract

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing Volunteer Engine CRM Tool
  • Assist with creating new volunteer engagement opportunities 
  • Ensure the sign in and sign out of the volunteers on our CRM
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of the annual volunteer appreciation event
  • Help with planning and execution for various events and programs geared towards youth and volunteers
  • Presenting the current volunteer opportunities to High school and university students and try to attract them
  • Generate monthly volunteer engagement reports.
  • Other related duties as required

Required Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite is an asset
  • Comfortable learning new software applications, as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Time management skills and deadline-oriented
  • Ability to respond to members’ requests with patience and enthusiasm; understand the needs of members and escalate issues when appropriate
  • Work with little supervision or assistance, work within a team and independently
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Proven ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment, quick to problem solve and de-escalate conflicts as they arise, and lead with emotional maturity
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and be organized
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and connect well with new people in a multi-ethnic and socially diverse environment

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 30 years (inclusive)
  • Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employment 
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Must have access to a reliable personal laptop for administrative and internship-related responsibilities

Compensation

$17.60 per hour
