Programs Coordinator

Description

Job Purpose: The Programs Coordinator at ISNA Canada plays a crucial role in fostering community engagement and facilitating our programs and events. This role includes coordinating, planning and delivery of community programs, ensuring they are accessible, engaging, and well-organized. The Programs Coordinator will work closely with internal teams and community partners to create community-focused initiatives with a focus on strengthening community connections, increasing participation, and enhancing the overall program experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of community programs to ensure they are well-organized, inclusive, and aligned with ISNA Canada’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain a comprehensive program calendar, ensuring timely execution of programs, workshops, trainings, and special initiatives throughout the year.
  • Support logistical execution of programs by coordinating space setup, ordering materials and supplies, preparing resources, and ensuring smooth on-site or virtual delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records, participant data, attendance tracking, and documentation to support effective communication, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase program participation, engagement, and retention across diverse community groups.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, community partners, and external stakeholders to strengthen program delivery, expand reach, and enhance impact.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of program committee volunteers by fostering leadership, ownership, and meaningful community involvement.
  • Create and implement program development plans, including training opportunities, workshops, and curriculum enhancements for participants, volunteers, and part-time staff, based on best practices.
  • Identify gaps, emerging needs, and opportunities within existing programming, and recommend enhancements, new formats, or pilot initiatives to better serve the community.
  • Develop and implement program evaluation tools; collect participant feedback through surveys, check-ins, and data collection to assess program effectiveness and community impact.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize program statistics and evaluation data; prepare regular reports and insights for management review and strategic planning.
  • Accurately track program budgets, expenses, and resource needs to ensure programs are delivered sustainably and cost-effectively.
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts in collaboration with communications teams to promote programs and increase awareness across the community.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, planning sessions, professional development activities, and organizational initiatives to support a collaborative work environment.
  • Remain flexible and responsive to evolving organizational priorities while contributing positively to team culture and cross-departmental efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support ISNA Canada’s mission, values, and operational needs.

Qualifications and Job Experience Required:
  • A post-secondary degree in Community Development, Humanities, Social Sciences, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain strong working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and shared ownership within an organization.
  • Strong and effective organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong conflict management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, especially in high-engagement community settings.
  • Experience with and commitment to community engagement work in diverse communities.
  • Experience in leadership, mentorship, or volunteer development is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous volunteer or professional experience in Muslim community spaces is considered a strong asset.

Requirements: 
  • Must be available to work in-person at our Head Office (ISNA Canada - ICC) in Mississauga, ON from the hours of 11:00 - 7:00 PM.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required for programs and events as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and meet all necessary employment requirements.
  • Must obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening or equivalent background check, as necessary for working with children in an educational setting in the province of Ontario.
