Volunteer Services Intern
Description
Duration: 8 Weeks
Job Term: Full Time, Summer Contract
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with managing Volunteer Engine CRM Tool
- Assist with creating new volunteer engagement opportunitiesÂ
- Ensure the sign in and sign out of the volunteers on our CRM
- Coordinate the planning and execution of the annual volunteer appreciation event
- Help with planning and execution for various events and programs geared towards youth and volunteers
- Presenting the current volunteer opportunities to High school and university students and try to attract them
- Generate monthly volunteer engagement reports.
- Other related duties as required
Required Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Highly detail-oriented
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite is an asset
- Comfortable learning new software applications, as needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management skills and deadline-oriented
- Ability to respond to members’ requests with patience and enthusiasm; understand the needs of members and escalate issues when appropriate
- Work with little supervision or assistance, work within a team and independently
- Strong conflict management skills
- Proven ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment, quick to problem solve and de-escalate conflicts as they arise, and lead with emotional maturity
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and be organized
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and connect well with new people in a multi-ethnic and socially diverse environment
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 30 years (inclusive)
- Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, for the duration of the employmentÂ
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Must have access to a reliable personal laptop for administrative and internship-related responsibilities
Compensation
$17.60 per hour
